Application Criteria
What are we looking for?
We’re actively seeking East African ventures with:
At least 2 years of operations
Annual revenues exceeding $50,000
A product or service already in the market, with a clearly defined customer base
A strong founding team rooted in and operating from East Africa
A business model that creates sustainable jobs for low-income communities
Tangible positive impact — social, economic, or environmental — aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
HOW WE WORK
Our Investment Process
We accept and review applications on a rolling basis, so you can apply when you’re ready.
Submit your pitch deck and answer a few key questions so we can get an initial sense of your business.
We assess your eligibility against our criteria and connect with shortlisted ventures to learn more about your team and model.
A deep dive into your business, impact, finances, and growth potential.
If aligned with our investment and impact thesis, we present your case to our committee for a final decision.
If approved, funding is disbursed in agreed tranches. Disbursement is contingent on donor capital availability and use-of-funds milestones.
Post-investment, we offer ongoing, tailored venture-building support to help you achieve product-market fit, scale sustainably, and improve your investment readiness.
We typically plan for an exit within 5 to 10 years, depending on your trajectory and fundraising milestones.
