Our founder, Till Wahnbaeck, knows and values two different worlds: the private sector—having served as an executive in the consumer goods industry and as a managing director in publishing—and the NGO sector, as Global CEO of Welthungerhilfe, one of Germany’s leading aid organisations. Impacc aims to bridge these two worlds, using the tools of one to achieve the goals of the other.

From a legal standpoint, this was no easy task, but Impacc succeeded: it is the first German non-profit officially authorized by the tax authorities to convert donations into equity stakes in African start-ups. In doing so, we use the tools of business to create a better world — where everyone, everywhere, can live with dignity.
